Raster Image Processor (RIP), converts postscript data from software packages such as Quark Xpress, Pagemaker, etc. into dots for imaging by printers, filmsetters and platesetters. The Brisque enables us to provide consistency because the same "ripped" data (digital film) is used for each output device, whether an ink jet proof or the final plate-ready film. The Brisque accepts files from either the Macintosh or Windows platform. Screen angles, frequency and trapping are handled by the Brisque rather than by the software package or computer operator.
Professional quality flatbed scanner capable of scanning 12 in. x 17 in. originals. Scans line art b/w photos, color photos, slides, transparencies and 35-mm negatives. Reduces and enlarges from 20% to 2,700%. Maximum scanning resolution of 8,200 dpi. Allows more than 40 scans per hour (6x7 cm @ 250%, 300 dpi, CMYK on Mac G3). True parallel workflow enables simultaneous setup and scanning by one operator. Intuitive software combined with pre-defined masks allow batch scanning. 70 35-mm images can be scanned in one batch at a maximum optical resolution of 3,175 dpi. It offers total flexibility in image size, thickness, material and format. Thick books, painting, packaging and other unusual shapes may be placed on the scanner bed.
Network Attached Storage
Hybinette Granite is an electronic file storage device with 272 GB on-line storage, which is expandable to 1.1 TB giving us the ability to store and work on large-scale projects. It allows archiving of digital files in one central location accessible to all prepress personnel. Automated backup procedures ensure safekeeping of our records.
Dolev 800 Filmsetter
The Dolev 800 is also made by CreoScitex. It is a high-resolution drum filmsetter capable of imaging a 32" x 44" sheet of plate-ready film in resolutions from 1,270 dpi to 5,080 dpi.
